KIRK t-shirt now available!

by Darren on May 15th, 2012 at 10:38 pm

One of the best parts about running every aspect of your own business is how quickly an idea can come to life.

The idea for this shirt was submitted to us on Twitter from @G_be_me and from that rough draft became the artwork you see here. I wanted the art to look like real handwriting so I whipped it up on paper and scanned it in to do the finishing touches on my computer.

The films and screens were made this morning and just before game time I fired off 15 shirts to give the players and one for Josh Lewin at WFAN. He requested one yesterday after seeing the first draft on Twitter.

So within 24 hours the idea went from Twitter, to my computer, to the t-shirt press and finally the Mets clubhouse. Now that’s some quick turnaround!

We’ll post pics of the players rocking them as they surface. For now you can pick up one of your own over on the webstore by clicking HERE.

Captain Wright

by Darren on May 13th, 2012 at 11:51 am

What a start for Wright! Leading the NL in batting at .402 (tied with Hamilton in the AL) and a .489 OBP, the dude is on freakin fire. With this being crunch time there are a few scenarios playing out in front of our eyes.

Before the season started talks were that if Wright started off hot, as he has, that would only raise his value and give the Mets the option to get top dollar for him. He could have also been stinking up the joint and in that case it might be easier for the fans to accept his departure. The other is that he is making such a case on the field and at the plate (and the team is winning) that the team is forced to pay the man. They can’t keep at this pace just a couple games out of 1st place and dump the top dog. Sandy has said he doesn’t foresee David going anywhere, but you know how that goes.

I obviously can’t speak for everyone, but I personally want Wright on this team for years to come. The “face of the franchise” is our only puzzle piece left from the team we had such high hopes for. Now these young “underdogs” are gelling and are making serious noise in the NL East.

This CAPTAIN shirt idea is my way of saying how I feel about Wright. He is the veteran on this team who has led by example since getting to the bigs. Always seems to say and do the right things and it’s become apparent more so now than ever that he is in fact the CAPTAIN with or without the C patch on his chest. His leadership is needed by both his fellow players and us fans.

We can’t get rid of the captain. PAY THE MAN!

Chicks Dig A Big Head

by Darren on May 8th, 2012 at 10:19 am

I was in the middle of printing tees last week and this popped in my brain. I had a rough idea in the past of something close to this, but didn’t think of a way to pull it off. I didn’t just want a silhouette of baseball’s favorite mascot. Not that this is all that clever, but the head tops off the I which makes sense and looks pretty good graphically. I think most people would get a smile out of this shirt regardless if they’re baseball fans or not.

Like most ideas for the brand, I did a quick pen sketch in my book and put it on my to do list of things to work on when I get computer time. My buddy Brian whipped up the head, I tossed in the text, mocked it up on a shirt and BAM, a new idea is born.

Not every idea actually goes to print but I’ll feel this one out around the net to gauge interest. If the fans want em… it’ll come to life. That’s the beauty of printing everything yourself. Feel it out before getting stuck with batches of tees you can’t sell.

NEW SHIRTS!

by Darren on April 8th, 2012 at 9:45 pm

You guys have been asking about this one since the end of last season and the time has come to make it happen. THE DUDA-BIDES!

These are up as a PRE-SALE and will not ship until AT LEAST 4/18. That means if you are looking to buy any of the other shirts in our line you should do so separately. Otherwise your whole order will be held up until these are ready to ship.

We also sold out of our last toddler t-shirts and decided to release these new BORN TO BELIEVE shirts. As Met fans most of us didn’t have a decision which team we were going to root for. Odds are your family members were Met fans and they passed the torch off to you. Kids of die hards are no exception and just like us they will be trained to BELIEVE.

Fan Katie Barrett Zedlovich submitted the idea and I whipped up the graphic earlier today. After the photo got over 200 “likes” on Facebook in about an hour I knew Katie came up with a winner. These are also set as a PRE-SALE until the 18th and are available in both toddler and youth sizes.

Thanks Katie! I will get some out to you as soon as they go to print!

Time to go shopping guys!

Daniel Murphy: #IMWITH28

by Darren on March 30th, 2012 at 9:15 am

MetsPolice.com just posted this photo of Daniel Murphy in his #IMWITH28 shirt!

(says: #IMWITH and a big 28 on the back)

MP contacted me about 2 months ago about these tees and since I’d be printing them I suggested a collaboration. That way I could print, sell, and distribute out of my warehouse to make all our lives a little easier. They said since “You’re the t-shirt guy” that made sense and we rolled with the idea.

The limited edition green shirts were scooped up pretty quick before St. Patrick’s Day but there are still a few left for you slow pokes. We also have a good amount of blue tees left too. GET ONE HERE.

Hop on over to MetsPolice.com to read about how #IMWITH28 came to light and what MP has planned for a Murph campaign to the ASG.

I Stand By Wright

by Darren on March 29th, 2012 at 8:15 pm

I designed this last week after someone posted this ESPN Fantasy Baseball commercial on our Facebook wall.

The clown ponders his next move and decides, “I Stand By Wright” and I feel the same way. I’m not sure if ESPN meant to imply that it makes Met fans a group of clowns, but if that’s the case I’ll go by Bozo.

Wright was out with the sore rib cage and I wanted to wait until he was back in the lineup before making it available. Tonight he jacked a grand salami down in Port Saint Lucie so I guess this is just as good a time as any for the release.

Straight forward no frills design and it’s now available over on the webstore. Word around the baseball diamond is that this may be D.Wrights last horrah as a Met. I know I can’t be the only one who opposes that idea … I STAND BY WRIGHT, do you?!?

GARY CARTER RIP

by Darren on February 16th, 2012 at 7:45 pm

By now most of you have heard the news about Gary Carter. His battle with brain cancer ended today and if you believe in heaven he is surely on his way. Right as I found out the song “Knocking on Heavens Door” came on and I have no doubt in my mind that it was a sign.

Gary fought until the end and although it’s sad to see him go I am at least happy his pain is over. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues at the Gary Carter Foundation. The battle is over but his memory will live on forever.

This past summer Kerel from OnTheBlack and I released t-shirts with the profits going to the Gary Carter Foundation. Together we raised close to $3,000 for their charity and it was our pleasure to organize something for such a great cause.

After hearing that Gary’s tumors had worsened and were inoperable I designed the simple tear graphic you see here. I e-mailed it to the foundation and they agreed that it was a very fitting design.

Jessica from the foundation just e-mailed me with this statement:

“People like Darren and his company The 7 Line are few and far between.  Many fans have asked how they can give back and show support for Gary and his family during this difficult time. The 7 Line has graciously committed to donate proceeds from the sales of shirts honoring our friend, Gary Carter, to the foundation bearing his name.

The Gary Carter Foundation offers its sincerest gratitude to The 7 Line and will work to ensure these funds are always used in accordance with Gary’s vision and his commitment for helping those in need.”

The shirt is now up as a pre-sale until at least March 1st. We expect the response will be overwhelming and would like to gauge how many to make before going to print. Click HERE to pick one up.

RIP KID.

Spring: New Tees

by Darren on February 12th, 2012 at 9:30 am

Spring Training is right around the corner and we have 5 new tees in our line up for sale. These 5 shirts have a little of everything for every fan young or old. The Tom Terrific and Shea Panels tees would appeal to older die hards that show respect to the history of the team while the T7L skull shirt would gear more towards a fan who likes an edgy look.

The Keep Calm and Cheer On shirt is great for any fan. Everyone is always so down on our team that we all expect a losing season before they even play 1 of the 162. Chill out, get off the ledge, keep calm and cheer on.

Lastly the Bronx Bandwagon shirt goes without saying. Any baseball fan will tell you that the bandwagon capital is located in the Bronx. People will get a laugh out of this one for sure.

All of our shirts are printed on top notch premium garments. We don’t slouch on the quality and offer you the best fit and feel shirts around. We have a 100% money back return policy if you aren’t happy with the shirts once they arrive, but let me tell you that is never the case.

We keep our costs reasonable by cutting printing charges that other brands see. We print every shirt by hand in our Queens, NY warehouse. For the fans, by the fans right in the backyard of the team we love.

Friday Find: Animal Bike New Era Hats

by Darren on January 27th, 2012 at 4:00 pm

This weeks Friday Find comes from our friends at Animal Bikes. These hats dubbed the “Amazins” come in your choice of two colorways. Since these were release over a year ago stock is low on sizes, but at the price of $10 for a rare New Era you really can’t go wrong.

Animal is a local bmx brand with NYC/NJ roots. Their team of riders are well known for their “street” style, which to those not in the know is what you’d call grinding on anything you’d see in a real street setting. Animals inception came back in 2000 and are now known globally in and out of the BMX world.

Animal were always awesome to me back when I was riding on the regular so hopefully we can return the favor by helping to liquidate the rest of their stock. If you run a size 7 3/4,  7 7/8 or 8 they got you covered. If you have a smaller head and want to track down a lid, try searching the net for another retailer that may have some left.
