KIRK t-shirt now available!

by Darren on May 15th, 2012 at 10:38 pm

One of the best parts about running every aspect of your own business is how quickly an idea can come to life.

The idea for this shirt was submitted to us on Twitter from @G_be_me and from that rough draft became the artwork you see here. I wanted the art to look like real handwriting so I whipped it up on paper and scanned it in to do the finishing touches on my computer.

The films and screens were made this morning and just before game time I fired off 15 shirts to give the players and one for Josh Lewin at WFAN. He requested one yesterday after seeing the first draft on Twitter.

So within 24 hours the idea went from Twitter, to my computer, to the t-shirt press and finally the Mets clubhouse. Now that’s some quick turnaround!

We’ll post pics of the players rocking them as they surface. For now you can pick up one of your own over on the webstore by clicking HERE.

They’re real and they’re AMAZIN’

by Darren on May 7th, 2012 at 1:30 pm

Since this shirt came out a couple weeks ago girls have been sending us their photos and of course… we’re posting them for you to see. You ladies don’t have many options in fan apparel. Victoria Secret has a line with their PINK department, but to be honest in my opinion they’re all super cheesy.

I’m not saying this to try and convince you to buy my merch instead, if you’re into that by all means go buy them, I just see nothing appealing about a shirt that says PLAY BALL or MEET ME AT THE METS GAME. It’s really unoriginal and has no ties to being specifically geared toward the team you love. They just change the garment color/team name and sell them in every other store in the states. That same shirt you’re wearing sells in Philly and is red.

I personally like quality and originality and I feel that the growth of The 7 Line is credited to you guys knowing that you’re buying a shirt from one of your own, the fan in the stands. I’ll try my best to come out with some more creative shirts for you ladies…  just keep those photos coming so your fellow fans know where to shop! Get your AMAZIN’ shirt HERE.

FOR THE FANS, BY THE FANS.

Davis, Turner, Rauch and The 7 Line

by Darren on May 6th, 2012 at 11:42 am

I posted these photos on our instagram account but if you don’t follow us on Twitter or Facebook you haven’t seen em yet.

So far this season the Mets players have been huge supporters of The 7 Line brand. It’s pretty crazy to see the dudes rocking the tees and being so public about it. By now most die hard fans know of The 7 Line and it’s awesome that the players themselves took notice and like the tees enough to wear them.

Mets rocking The Duda-Bides tees!

by Darren on April 29th, 2012 at 12:17 pm

I dropped off a box of tees on Thursday before the team head out on the road. In the stack were our new tees, THE DUDA-BIDES.

Writer Andy McCullough of The Star Ledger caught wind of them wearing the shirts and added it to his story about Duda and his big night in Colorado.

Read the full story HERE and also follow him on Twitter @McCulloughSL

Get your shirt HERE.

Good lookin out Andy! Thanks!

Out with the old, in with the Ruben!

by Darren on April 25th, 2012 at 9:40 am

Lots of mixed emotions last night at the ballpark. As I walked in Citi Field I saw more than a few confused fans wearing Reyes Mets jerseys with Miami Marlins hats. They weren’t in the same group of friends, so more than a few people had that same twisted idea, whatever that may be.

A large group of Reyes supporters were down the LF line and roared as he came out to stretch. I settled down in section 109 near the Mets warming up and few of the players stopped to check out my sign. Pretty sure Wright pointed it out to Ruben and Murphy smiled and tossed me up a ball. I guess the players have the same feeling.

Enough with the Reyes media frenzy. He’s been gone since December and it’s time to finally move on and get behind our boy Ruben. I was front and center trying to rally behind Reyes, but there is no use crying over spilt milk. I’d love to have him but since he’s gone I’m just as happy to see him go 0-4 in his return.

I filmed the pre-game video tribute and was curious what the reaction would be. With so much talk about this I thought more people would care to watch, but I guess it’s really just the media who needed some extra hype about the game. Most people missed it or had no reaction; some boos but mostly cheers. Reyes tipped his cap, the game began and he ALMOST led off with a HR. You know damn well the beat reporters were hoping that cleared the wall. Lucky for us Captain Kirk got a good jump and chalked up out #1.  (photo by Gordon Donovan)

During the game a few JOSE chants could be heard (@Pessimets_ ) , some fans waved dollar bills in the air during his last at bat and boos echoed when he recorded outs against us at SS.

As per usual there was no run support for Johan but great to see him have a solid outing after getting roughed up last week. In the end Mets scored late to give him the ND and Rauch the W.

Mets win, Reyes and the Marlins lose…. I like the sound of that. Now somebody go put a jinx on the Nationals before they run away with this shit!

No Contract Offer, No Boos!

by Darren on April 22nd, 2012 at 9:34 am

Since I was such a supporter of Jose Reyes staying with the Mets last season people have been asking my opinion on how I’ll feel when he’ll return this Tuesday.

Will I boo? No. Will I cheer? I don’t think so.

I don’t think it’s right that the Mets are playing a video tribute before the game. Playing that is pretty much telling the fans that we should clap by jamming it down their throats. I understand it’s customary to play when an ex player comes back to town. That being said the Mets haven’t had a player like this leave in a long time.  Piazza was a different story because he was near the end of his career and not playing for a division rival. Reyes is still in the prime of his career, if his legs stay healthy.

Not saying how anyone else should feel but personally I’m not mad at Jose. He is a talent in the league that deserved to be paid. The Mets couldn’t afford him and made NO OFFER. The Marlins did and now he’s gone. Taking himself out of the last game? I didn’t like that, but what can we do about it now? Jose didn’t know that was going to be his last AB when he layed down the bunt in the bottom of the 1st. He should have at least went out for the 2nd inning if they were going to take him out of the game. That way the fans could have given him a hearty ovation that would have eventually been his send off.

Deal with it and move on. He now plays for the enemy and once the game starts he is just another guy in an opposing uniform.

Wow, the Mets took my advice!

by Darren on April 19th, 2012 at 6:22 pm

Wow, I’m actually pretty shocked. Thanks for replying Leigh! For those don’t know what this is about and want to get up to speed, read this mornings post HERE.

Most people in her position wouldn’t acknowledge the idea. I hope the printer has enough time to change it before they go to print.

I don’t mind giving feedback on future shirts if you need any advice. LGM!

That Ball Is Gone Goodbye!

by Darren on April 19th, 2012 at 3:25 pm

This shirt really needs no introduction. Frankly I’m surprised I didn’t think of a Kiner shirt sooner. Ralph has been a part of the Mets from the start and still graces the booth with his precense to this day.

This will be up as a PRE-SALE starting tomorrow and I will be trying to contact Ralph to see if he would like us to donate a portion of the shirts profits to the charity of his choice. The shirt color is called “vintage white” which is like an ash color. Very light grey to give it an older look.

If anyone has a contact for Ralph please send me an e-mail by clicking the CONTACT button above.
