This morning on Boomer & Carton 10 year old Liam Traynor goes head to head with Boomer talking Rangers trivia. Liam is battling cerebral palsy and is part of the Garden of Dreams. You may have seen the commercials on MSG, telling the stories of different kids who are having unforgettable experiences through their charity.
From the G.O.D. website: “Garden of Dreams has worked tirelessly to fulfill its mission by creating unique and unforgettable events and activities -often involving unprecedented access to Madison Square Garden Company celebrities, events and venues.”
Carton ends the interview by giving Liam one of the Sec. 406 t-shirts sold on our website. We didn’t produce the second shirt but get credit for it anyway. If you don’t know about Sec. 406 give this a read. Follow Sec.406 on TWITTER and like on FACEBOOK.
Brian over at Sec. 406 sent over this artwork for their new t-shirt. This is the 4th in their expanding line.
They are a new NY Rangers inspired brand that are selling their shirts through our website to help get their name out. They are just starting up and we are printing their t-shirts and helping with distribution.
Check out their website, like on Facebook and follow on Twitter. They’ll be at the game tonight giving away FREE t-shirts but you won’t know where to meet up if you don’t LIKE/FOLLOW!
I’ve known Brian for quite some time. I’m not exactly sure how we met, but we’ve had some mutual friends around the neighborhood and we linked up on a few projects in the past few years. Brian has also designed a few shirts for The 7 Line and has since decided to start his own brand called Sec. 406 with his buddy Tommy “The Ghost” Lapose. I was eventually going to release some hockey inspired shirts to The 7 Line, but rather than of us compete down the road Sec. 406 is releasing their first shirts through us. Instead of starting completely from scratch Sec. 406 is now under The 7 Line umbrella giving them a much larger audience to help launch the brand.
I asked Brian a few questions to give you guys a heads up about this new project…
Name?
Brian DiNonno
Hometown?
Bayside, NY
How long have you been a graphic artist? Did you go to school for it or are you all self taught?
Too long…. 8 years now, I think. I was always into art. Iron Maiden started it all, all that Eddie art blew my mind when I was young. And that started in grammar school. From then on I was always drawing and doodling something. In my later years I got my first computer and design software and found that I can take my art to the next level. So I spent many hours teaching myself all of the Adobe (design) programs. It wasn’t til I tried to get a job in the design field, that I needed a diploma to get a job. So off to school I went. It was the biggest waste of time and money. It says something about a school when you know more about the programs than the professors. But in the end I got my diploma and scored an awesome job.
I know you’ve released some shirts under the name EXC, are you still keeping that alive?
EXC will always live. Thats my little corner of sanity in this field, where I can draw up something that I think is cool and have it printed. And if someone else happens to stumble across it and dig it, even better. So be on the lookout for some new designs.
You’re now working on this new project Sec 406. Can you give everyone some insight as to what that’s all about?
It a NY Rangers fan line inspired by The 7 Line. We are season ticket holders for over 10 years now and have always been in Section 406, hence the name. We were bored with the same old stuff that NHL approve of and produces for its fans. It was time to make a brand that was fun, exciting and maybe cause a little stir. Because lets face it, Ranger fans are so hardcore and dedicated, they need something like this that we all can call our own. Approved by the fans, not the higher ups.
What are you’re expectations for this upcoming season?
BRING HOME THE CUP! That is all…
Good luck with this! We are stoked to be branching out on the ice with you!
Thanks, we appreciate The 7 Line taking us under their wing and showing its fans, as well as ours what we are all about. Stay Blue!
