I walk a very fine line here at The 7 Line. If you’ve followed the brand since the start you most likely know about the run in’s I’ve had with MLB and the Mets.
Long story short I was writing the word METS on some shirts and that’s not allowed. I really didn’t think the brand would take off as quickly as it did so I wasn’t very concerned with getting on anyone’s radar.
I’ve never used team logos on any of my shirts and since that first convo I had with MLB nothing has ever donned the word METS. The brand has been embraced by fans all around the world. They connect and relate with what I am doing and enjoy wearing something different to the stadium. The shirts are not always positive or something that a conservative parent might approve of, but I do what I want and make what I’d wear. It’s pretty cool being the boss.
Yes, The 7 Line is a brand but I feel it is also a community. Check out the Facebook page and people on there have become friends because of the shirts. It’s pretty crazy actually. Like minded individuals who have come together because we all are fans of this team. Twitter and Facebook has given the brand a huge audience and there’s no end to how wide this can grow. If The 7 Line has enough customers to stay afloat now… imagine when we have another playoff team?
This photo posted on this tshirt is of my arm. My buddy Roy Somech shot it years ago before this brand was even a thought. I started the tattoo in 2007 and this was shot just after my last sitting. I’ve since went to the wrist with Shea Stadium and old 7 train along with some other goodies.
So that raises the question… can I make shirts with my arm on it? I think that is 100% legal. The Mets should be happy that they have fans for life.
My tattoo’s been turning heads since 2007. People young and old, Mets fan or not can appreciate clean artwork. Eric Ziobrowski was behind the needle and I can’t be happier with his work. At the time Eric was working out of Visionary in Ronkonkoma but has since opened up his own studio on route 112 in Patchogue.

Thanks for the plug guys!
Today’s photo is brought to you by Karen M. from DammNice, a tattoo shop in Yonkers, N.Y.
I found this one on the USA Today blog called PopCandy.
I’m going to be scouring both the super highway and my own personal archives for a photo of the day.
This first one is by Justin Vogel that I found on his Flickr.
Great shot of tattooed old timer strolling in NYC.
