This Mets team is full of bold characters. From Alonso to Stroman, this bunch isn't afraid to speak their minds or show their swag on the field. They will be a bold bunch in black this season. With that said, The 7 Line staff makes their bold predictions for 2021...
Tim Reilly (@lifeoftimreilly): Jeff McNeil will win a batting title. He’s been pegged as a “future batting champion” throughout the first few years of his young career. 2021 will be the first of a few batting crowns.
He’ll have all the protection he needs in a lineup this deep. The talk has been quiet around him this spring with so many other big names in camp. Almost too quiet. That won’t last long once his bat starts making serious noise.
Rick Diffendale (@eladneffid): Jacob deGrom WILL receive a healthy amount of run support during his starts.

Pat Lay (@patlay7): Luis Rojas wins NL Manager of the Year. He’s gotten to know this organization better than anyone by literally working his way up from the bottom. Players like Dom and Pete love the guy, so chemistry is definitely not a problem. If everyone can stay healthy and play up to their potential, anything is possible. Promoting from within is almost always the way to go!
Al Cintron (@1InfamousTioAL): My bold prediction for this Mets roster is a tough one, but I'm a ride or die, and Edwin Diaz will save over 45 games and shut everyone that has doubted him up for good.
Nick Giacone (@nickygmoney): Marcus Stroman will have an All-Star season. He'll finally settle in nicely to the number two role, giving the Mets a nasty 1-2 punch in the top of the rotation. Stro's decision to accept the qualifying offer and bet on himself will pay monster dividends for his career and the franchise. His pitching will not only help land us in the playoffs, but will also be the catalyst for a new long-term deal that keeps him in Queens.
