OABT S2 E32: "The Captain Is Back!" Liquid lunch, live calls, Mets talk and more
David Wright is back on the field, Keith Hernandez is in a little hot water, Keith Olbermann straight up stinks at play by play, the Mets have 5 straight against the Phillies, lots of live calls, some free giveaways... AND... an announcement about how you can still cheer with us in Boston next month. Stacked deckthis week.
Hosted by Darren Meenan (with guest co-host Tim Reilly this week) , our episodes are usually taped live each Thursday at 6pm Eastern. We're a pretty visual show, so if you can, try to catch the live stream (or replay) on Facebook or Twitter. For now give a listen and if you're in to it, share with your friends, subscribe and leave a review.
Shout out to our beer sponsor OYSTER BAY BREWING COMPANY! Nothing better than supporting a local business, and cracking open a cold one over some baseball. Check them out at http://oysterbaybrewing.com/ and hit up their brewery during any Mets game for $5 pints when you mention OABT. Also, get $1 off pints anytime by mentioning the show as well. CHEERS!
CATCH THE SHOW THURSDAY NIGHTS AT 6PM EASTERN ON FB LIVE OR PERISCOPE!
An "Orange and Blue Thing" is something that Mets fans can relate to, so that's what we talk about. The comments section during the live stream turns in to a chat room, and the fan engagement is cool to see.
This might also be curtains for OABT. It's been a fun 7 years, but this might very well be the final episode. We've had a lot of laughs along the way and we thank you for joining us each week. With that, we chat about our favorite moments running this show, and look to a few important things coming up for Mets fans.
The Mets announced that they're creating a tenured system for their season ticket holders, and a lot of fans are pretty upset about it. Even after this disappointing season, some prices are going up, while some special perks (like Opening Day tickets and postseason strips), are going away for select plans.
We're back from Minnesota after hanging an L on T7LA's calendar. An unnamed Mets staffer said to Darren in Starbucks after the game "hope you had a good time before we shit the bed". We're borrowing a segment from SNY's Off Day Live show and Joe DeMayo joins us. Plus, who snubbed Darren for a selfie at the airport?
