OABT S2 E37: "I'm a Red Sox fan now" Mets talk, and live calls
Recapping The 7 Line Army's epic trip to Boston, the Red Sox owner John Henry came over to meet Darren at the outing, the Mets are moving from WOR to WCBS next season, we check in with WOR's Pete McCarthy about the current state of the team, toss out a hypothetical David Wright HR question, two jabroni's stole a banner from the Red Sox, live calls, free stuff, and more.
Hosted by Darren Meenan (with guest co-host Nick Giacone aka Nicky G Money this week) and Lizy Saroyan fielding the calls.
Join us next Thursday (9/27) for our season 2 finale LIVE from Patchogue! Come watch the show from the bar, and stay after for the Mets game. Drink specials, free food, and more.
Shout out to our beer sponsor OYSTER BAY BREWING COMPANY! Nothing better than supporting a local business, and cracking open a cold one over some baseball. Check them out at http://oysterbaybrewing.com/ and hit up their brewery during any Mets game for $5 pints when you mention OABT. Also, get $1 off pints anytime by mentioning the show as well. CHEERS!
An "Orange and Blue Thing" is something that Mets fans can relate to, so that's what we talk about. The comments section during the live stream turns in to a chat room, and the fan engagement is cool to see.
Pete Alonso leads the league in homers, and can't stop humping things along the way. If and when the Mets win it all, he's going to need a chastity belt. Buck Showalter, Jerry Seinfeld, and Pete's mom, aren't happy that the Polar Bear dropped his F bomb last week at Citi Field. The Mets are heating up, and showing the skeptics that at least for now that the season isn't "done".
SHEESH. Nothing more to say about this year so far. Justin Verlander is making his Mets debut tonight at Citi Field, and there's almost no buzz around it. That's really bad, and the team should be very concerned. It's been an extremely disappointing start to the 2023 Mets season. We're definitely not trying to hide the truth, but we'll instead be talking about some good news surrounding the team.
Will Steve Cohen be adding a dome over Citi Field? Bartolo Colon's 7 year home run anniversary is coming up this Sunday and we're releasing a commemorative t-shirt. Vogelbach sported braids yesterday and had a strong day at the plate. Who had the best/worst hairstyles in Mets history?
