Photos: Trip to the Gary Carter Foundation

[gallery link="file"] Yesterday afternoon I had the honor and privilege to visit the Gary Carter Foundation in West Palm Beach, FL. Part of my trip down to Spring Training was to drop off the poster board the fans signed at the memorial gathering the night after Gary passed. It could have easily been mailed, but I wanted to personally hand it over to the people at the foundation that I've been working with since last summer. The office isn't huge but the walls are filled with sports memorabilia. Every piece was signed by the players; from all 4 hall of fame catchers on one piece, a Whitey Ford jersey, the whole 1986 team and of course what collection would be complete without a  Tom Seaver jersey... Gary collected it all. When Jessica (Treasurer at the foundation) asked if I wanted to see Gary's office I was a little weary about it. I didn't want to overstep any lines since having my camera, but she assured me it was fine. I took a few minutes to check out all the amazing pieces he chose to hang in his personal space. With the exception of the black and white drawing; every photo you see in the above thumbnails were a part of his office. I need to thank Kerel Cooper (OnTheBlack.com) for approaching me with the idea back in the summer for the original "We Love Ya Kid Carter" charity t-shirt. That opened the door for the relationship between us and the Gary Carter Foundation and I am honored to be working so closely with them now for their great cause. If you'd like to pick up one of our RIP KID 8 shirts they're for sale on our website for $25. The proceeds from that shirt go directly to the foundation. Get one HERE.

Thank you, Mets fans!

Despite the ending, I had such a fun season. Thanks for being a part of it with me either at Citi Field, on the road, or at the Playwright. I met so many new fans this year. Not new to the Mets, but new to hanging with T7LA. It was a great time. Every game new faces would show up, and that's always encouraged. I know it's tough for some people to throw themselves in to a new situation, but I promise we don't bite. One of my favorite things about The 7 Line Army is watching strong friendships form from it.
