The scene was Game 3 of the 2015 World Series. Noah Syndergaard went high and (kind of) tight to Alcides Escobar to kick off the game. The Royals were not happy, and chief among the irritated was third baseman Mike Moustakas.
It was postgame that Syndergaard made his now-famous, “60 feet, six inches,” remark, which had to be at least partially directed at Moustakas.
Fast forward two-and-a-half years later and it seems like Thor hasn’t forgotten about their beef.
Moustakas signed a one-year, $6.5 million deal with the Royals last week, roughly $12 million less than he could have made had he just accepted Kansas City's qualifying offer. And on Saturday evening, this popped up on my Instagram feed:
Either Noah is just finding the humor in all this: a crummy situation for the players underscored by Moose’s situation and punctuated by a picture of him yelling at Syndergaard. Or...there’s still some hard feelings. Either way, God bless social media.
Hit the tailgate on Saturday July 9th as we prepare to celebrate Keith Hernandez! If you aren't capable of growing your own luxurious mustache for the occasion, we'll have hundreds of them up for grabs. Come get one before you head inside.
Come out to our tailgate party on June 18th before the Mets take on the Marlins at Citi Field. The game starts at 4:10pm which is perfect for a pre-game meet up. Swing by to see some friends, maybe meet some new ones, and responsibly wash down a couple cold ones.
