I'd love to add a Rusty Staub patch to my 2018 jersey. I'd also love if the proceeds went to a charity of his family's blessing. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world, and someone on eBay is pushing knock off patches for their own benefit.
It's disgusting.
I won't link to the listing, but if you happen to find it and want to leave your two cents, you can contact the seller.
Hats off to the Mets for honoring Rusty on their jerseys this season. If you remember, they did the same in 2012 for Gary Carter and 2014 for Ralph Kiner. Both of those patches were sold with proceeds donated towards respected charities, not to line an eBay seller's pockets.
Rusty dedicated so much of his life to charity, and it's a real shame to see someone now trying to profit off his passing.
I'm unsure if the Mets plan to release a patch of their own, but if you're hoping to honor Rusty with one, I'd urge you to wait and get the real thing.
We're kicking the season off in Houston with The 7 Line Army on Saturday March 29th at Daikin Park. Start your day off on a positive foot with this fun run (or walk) 5K!
Pick one Mets game per week during the entire 2025 Mets season and run or walk during it from the first pitch until the final out. Challenge yourself!
Meet up with The 7 Line Army at Pitch 25 before heading in to the game on March 29th! This venue is a couple block from the ballpark and they've put together an amazin' deal for our crew.
