Citi Field just hosted a pretty sweet event. Stadiumlinks is transforming the world’s most iconic stadiums into a one-of-a-kind golf experience and they brought the tour to Queens November 3-5th.
Thanks to @robkmay for todays Mets Photo Of The Day.
Finding reasons to hit the ballpark in the offseason is always fun. If I was a golfer, I'd have definitely participated. The last time I tried to learn the proper form, the guy next to me at the driving range picked up his shit and left. I basically drill the balls straight up and they land wildly in any direction. Quite reckless. For me, this would have been flushing $100 down the drain. You could buy beer though, so at least I'd have that going for me.
Entry got you 9 balls. One swing per hole from various tees set up all around the ballpark. Pricey, but definitely fun for those in to golf. Those feeling lucky could have opted to drop an extra $10 a hole on a "chipping challenge". Highest points leader at the end of the day took home $500.
Quite a few members of The 7 Line Army participated, and Hole 3 was directly next to our kiosk over the Big Apple Reserve.
Not sure where he ended up, but our buddy Mediagoon definitely didn't take home the pot. At least he was looking spiffy in that T7L hoodie. Thanks bud.
We're extremely saddened to hear that Rizky "Riz" Ridwan has passed. Riz was always a friendly face in the crowd and started cheering with The 7 Line Army a decade ago during the 2014 season. He hit San Francisco with us that year along with some games at Citi Field.
