I watched the Rangers win the Winter Classic in overtime from the warmth of my couch. If it wasn't like 5 degrees, I probably would have checked it out, but beer slushies on New Years Day didn't really spark my interest. I'm a firm believer that any reason to get to the ballpark is a good one, but if I actually cared about new years resolutions, attempting to get frostbite wouldn't be one of them. Shout out to all you guys who signed up for gym memberships yesterday by the way.
From what I read on social media, besides the frigid temps, it seemed like a pretty fun time. Sure, there were some shadows on the ice, and the view wasn't superb from all of the seats, but I think you had to expect that going in to it. The view was always going to be better from your couch, but if you're a super die hard Rangers or Sabres fan, I can't see you not wanting to be there.
Shout to @baseballparkpics for the above photo. It was a nice touch to decorate the outfield with old cabs, fire hydrants and a mock train station entrance. Pretty sure this was also the second time the HR Apple received a makeover. The first being the bandage X the day after Travis d'Arnaud's HR in the 2015 NLCS. Damn, that seems like forever ago.
Ha! The #Mets just placed a "bandage" where Travis d'Arnaud hit the Home Run Apple last night. pic.twitter.com/mbVr3bQeh0

I blew it big time not teaming up with the @NHL to turn this in to a beanie. 🍎 🏒 #WinterClassic https://t.co/NryytFpBYe

We hope you'll join us for the 2nd annual T7L7K! The inaugural event far exceeded our expectations and we know 2025 will be even greater. Run (or walk) with us through Flushing Meadows Corona Park, up to the Shea Stadium base paths, and back.
