I've only asked the Mets for a credential for myself twice. Banner Day back in 2014, and this past weekend for the first Old Timers Day since 1994.
I didn't have a real plan of what I wanted to capture. The initial thought was to grab a player or two for some sound, but once arriving I was more in awe of just getting what I could of the guys simply being back in uniform.
Piazza, Strawberry, Kranepool, Hernandez, Gooden, HoJo, Bartolo, Wilson, Reyes, Stearns, and dozens of other Mets greats were on the guest list. In the same place. At the same time.
Narrated by none other than Howie Rose, the day couldn't have been better. From Jane Jarvis' version of the National Anthem, to a surprise number retirement for Willie Mays, the day was excellent.
"Simply put, the Mets are New York" - @HowieRose | #MetsOldTimersDay was all that and more. A perfect day at the ballpark celebrating 60 years of @Mets legends. #LGM pic.twitter.com/1aukHwfnct

We shot WAY too much yesterday for a 2:20 edit. A short coming soon, but for those with longer attention spans we'll pop the raw on our YouTube too. Stay tuned.
Thanks for the access, @Mets. pic.twitter.com/bmavwqKxTh
I captured way too much for just Twitter videos, or an Instagram Reel that could really do the day justice.
Instead of cutting anything, here's it all on YouTube. It's long, so grab some popcorn and press play.
Thanks to the Mets for the access, I might be asking more often now.

Your eyes do not deceive you, we don't have any available Mets 2024 Postseason merch. It's not that we don't have designs ready to go, we just aren't allowed to release them for another 2 weeks. Fanatics gets an exclusive 2 week window on licensed merch.
