The beer guy is one of the most important employees at the ballpark, and our dude Mike Marshall is up there in the MVP ranks at Citi Field. If you've ever cheered with The 7 Line Army at home, and you drink beer, you've seen Mike working the crowd.
If you happen to shop at Trader Joes in Merrick, you'll see Mike's mug as part of a display down the beer aisle. Our buddy Antonio runs the section at the supermarket and wanted "to pay tribute to the best beer guy in the business".
A few takeaways here:
#1. That's pretty awesome. Mike is the man. Nice touch with the blue/orange floral shirt.
#2. Apparently a few die hard Mets fans work at this Trader Joe's, and it's pretty common for them to tip their caps to the team. Shout out to Mary, one of their in house artists.
#3. I had no idea Trader Joe's made their own beer. At just $4.99 for a 6-pack of double IPA, I'd give it a whirl. This site says they actually have 18 house beers. Worth a shot.
#4. I've never seen Mike sell anything but beer, but I guess he dabbles with hot chocolate on the chilly days. Must not have been a T7LA day. Charging $9.75 for hot chocolate is highway robbery though. Powder and water. Crazy. That's like a million percent markup.
See ya in the Big Apple Reserve on April 4th, Mike. Have a couple Mikkeller's on ice for me.
We have 7 new buy one get one free offers up for grabs! You're able to add any or all of them to your cart if you'd like while supplies last.
Tailgate with us on Saturday August 16th! You don't need to be sitting with The 7 Line Army to tailgate together. Let's get the good vibes started in the parking lot and hopefully they continue until last pitch. Food, drinks, games, music and more in the Marina Lot.
Swing by the K Korner on Friday August 1st before the Mets take on the SF Giants. If you're sitting with us or not, you can enjoy exclusive specials on Montauk draft beers by rocking any of your T7L merch to the bar.
