We're extremely saddened to hear that Rizky "Riz" Ridwan has passed.
Riz was always a friendly face in the crowd and started cheering with The 7 Line Army a decade ago during the 2014 season. He hit San Francisco with us that year along with some games at Citi Field.
Since then, besides Citi Field, Riz ventured to Atlanta, Miami, Philly three times, Boston, DC, Pittsburgh, and this year London to cheer on his Mets.
We scrolled through his IG and this caption from 2015 summed up how we'll remember Riz. He had moved to Tennessee for a bit, and was excited for our trip to Turner Field.
Always down for fun, and willing to help out however possible. I don't think anyone ended up needing a ride, but it was the thought that counts.
We'll miss seeing Riz at the games, and our hearts and thoughts go out to his family and friends. We're so sorry for your loss.
If you're able to help out, there is a Go Fund Me set up to help his mother with funeral costs, and to help her as she takes time to grieve the loss of her son.
From Go Fund Me "With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear friend Rizky Ridwan aka Riz aka Kiki. Rizky was a joyful soul to be around with, especially when a microphone was in his hand. Whether you were with him at karaoke or worshipping at church, his voice projected in the room and you felt his soul in every single song he sang. We also can’t forget his love for the Mets, Giants, and Rangers that were also on the same level of his love for singing - maybe more.
He is now resting in the arms of God; no more pain. Let us come together in celebrating Rizky’s life."
A memorial service will be held this Friday, 9/13/2024 at the Cornerstone Church in Elmhurst.
