Listen, I too was an idiot from time to time. Have one or two extra beers and do some dumb shit I probably shouldn't have.
Yes, it was. Don’t do this. Don’t make this a thing. Don’t make more work for the staff. Don’t put fans below you in danger. Don’t be an asshole. pic.twitter.com/WcHSPxiJZ5

I used to go to 7-11 on Northern Blvd in Flushing before Mets games, get a Double Big Gulp, fill it with Steel Reserve, and walk in to Shea Stadium with it to save a few bucks. Ahh, the good old days. I don't know who these rich fans were tossing $20 beers on the field after the walk off win on Saturday night, but they need to be punished.
This video has a shot of a dude in a blue Pete Alonso jersey actually filming himself committing his crime. Just as the camera pans to the right you see his left hand toss a beer on the field.
lindor walk-off hit at citi field, and fans started throwing beers onto the field??? can we not???? we can’t be like this 😩😒👎 pic.twitter.com/VLSo29dtdS

Mere seconds after the win the SNY camera flipped to the below angle and I thought my eyes were deceiving me. Why were fans throwing shit on the field? It wasn't just one or two knuckleheads either. Look at this. You can count dozens of cans on the field with more raining down. A grounds crew dude is already on his way out with a wheel barrow to go clean up after these savages. Hope he didn't get hit.
Speaking of savages. This is what they do (at least once) in the Bronx. No wonder Soto wanted out.
After the Yankees won on a walk-off single, New York fans starting throwing trash at the Guardians outfielders.

Francisco Lindor had the walk off hit, and while he was talking about the culture of the Mets to Gelbs, these morons were out there ruining the moment. Let's knock this off right now and let it be the last time it happens.
“It’s part of the culture. Everybody that comes to play for the Mets has to understand that we’re gonna grind, we’re gonna compete, we’re gonna give everything we got day in and day out. And at the end of the day, it’s all about winning.”

I'm now on season 17 running The 7 Line. I do get it and understand that some fans hate when I speak up about what "we" should be doing as fans. If you check the receipts, I never try to tell people how to be a fan. If you want to cheer with T7LA, cool. If you don't, that's cool too! On this one, I hope we can all be on the same page though. There's no room for acts like this at our ballpark.
Throwing stuff on the field is not only a bad look for the fan base, you're also putting the fans below you in danger, making a mess, and adding more work for the ballpark staff.
Last season we were the Team Of Fun. Let's be that. Certainly not this.
Meet up with The 7 Line Army at Royal Sands Social Club before heading in to the game on April 26th! This venue is located just across the street from the Center Field entrance at Nationals Park.
We had a magical run at The Playwright during the 2024 Postseason. Night after night the place was packed out with Mets fans and we witnessed some pretty incredible moments together. Watch the game here on Saturday March 29th!
Kick off the 2025 season at our tailgate on Friday April 4th! You don't need to be sitting with The 7 Line Army to tailgate together. Let's get the good vibes started in the parking lot and hopefully they continue until last pitch. Food, drinks, games, music and more in the Marina Lot.
