This "Shea Bridge" inspired 59FIFTY® fitted cap features an woven label on the front with embroidered edges, a stitched New Era® flag at wearer's left side and The 7 Line woven label on the back. Interior includes branded taping and a moisture absorbing sweatband. Grey under brim.
The Shea Bridge is a popular spot in the outfield to watch a game at Citi Field. The floor of the bridge is speckled orange and dons the Shea Stadium logo. We took those elements and turned it in to a cap.
The text from a sign on the bridge is written inside the cap on the sweatband. A little history lesson on your head. "William A. Shea, a prominent New York attorney, was the driving force in the effort to bring National League baseball back to the city after the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants left for California in 1957. Shea Stadium, home of the Mets from 1964-2008, was named in his honor. Shea was inducted into the Mets Hall Of Fame in 1983 and the name Shea is honored alongside the Mets retired numbers."
