Fan Photo: Big Dreams

I'm super jealous of this photo. I have some from my youth at Shea but nothing quite this young. Photos have always been popular, but these days with every human owning a cell phone, kids are really getting a fully documented life whether they know it or not. I am still pissed that my parents retired the old film super 8 camera after my sister was born. They captured some great footage of her on that old thing, but I got shafted. My earliest video opportunity was from the over the shoulder dinosaur VHS camera my uncle bought in like 1984... how quickly technology has evolved. Thanks to Karla Velasquez for e-mailing us these photos and her story.

"I would like to submit attached picture of my nephew, Dominic, who was 16 months old at the time the picture was taken. We had no idea that the Mets would play their last season at Shea just 5 years later.

Dominic is now 9 years old and plays 2nd base and shortstop for his little league team in Georgia, where he now lives (picture attached was of when he was on the "Mets" two year ago).

Baseball is in Dominic's blood and his dream is to someday play in the majors for the his favortie team, the New York Mets.
