The 1986 season gets beat like a dead horse to us Mets fans, but since that was the teams last shining light people tend to hold on to it. The cocky demeanor held by the players brought a swag to Queens that will be remembered forever. They talked the talk but were one out away from ending the season in 2nd place. Hope was lost, defeat was in the air and Hernandez was already drinking a beer when Carter started the magical 10th inning 2 out rally. The rest is history.
