Gary Carter Foundation Update

by 2 February 26, 2012 0 Comments

It's been a little over a week since the RIP KID tees went up for sale and I am proud to announce that as of right now we helped raise over $4,750 for the Gary Carter Foundation from the sale of our t-shirts. Fans across the globe have expressed their sadness since Gary's passing and found something as simple as a t-shirt as a way to help grieve over a man who's life changed theirs. The majority of fans who have been touched by Gary's life never had the chance to meet him, myself included. That doesn't change the fact that the way he lived with such drive and motivation was embraced by all who watched him on and off the field. I feel it's my duty as a Mets fan to help do what I can and t-shirts are my outlet. The poster board you see here is the RIP KID graphic I designed for the t-shirts we are selling for their charity. I felt that the fans who were going to the impromptu memorial service at Citi Field would have liked to sign it with their own message to Gary. Since I'm driving to Florida this week I've decided to bring this with me to hand deliver to the foundation in Palm Beach. It belongs there. I am also bringing a blank one with me to Digital Domain Park to collect signatures from the Mets players. That one will be put up for auction with 100% of the proceeds going to the Gary Carter Foundation. I will keep you all posted on that as I get players to sign it. Follow me on TWITTER for updates throughout my stay in Port Saint Lucie. I'm driving down this Tuesday and staying until the 9th of March. @The7Line

No, you don't need to run, but you can if you want to. Shout out to Sayville Running Company, Milltown Runners, Move Fast Lift Heavy, Coho, and Arooga's for teaming up with us on what should be a really fun night. If you're in the running community or not, this night as a whole is just about bringing positive like minded individuals together for a good time.
