Everyone is preoccupied with the holidays right now, but in January, you're going to start settling into the doldrums of winter. We're all going to need an oasis in this parade of barren, cold January and February days. The Queens Baseball Convention (QBC) is that reprieve.
What is QBC? It's the brainchild of our buddies Keith "Media Goon" Blacknick, Dan Twohig, and Shannon Shark. They were frustrated that the Mets didn't (and still don't) have annual fan fest like the majority of the teams in Major League Baseball, so they started their own.
Players past and present make an appearance to greet fans and sign autographs, Mets-centric vendors are set up throughout the venue with their products available for sale, and there are panels all day long, with topics ranging from the uniform history of the organization to the current state of the franchise.
This year, Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo and pitcher Chris Flexen are schedule to appear, as well as former All Star catcher Todd Hundley.
On Friday, it was also announced that I'll be hosting this year's uniform panel, which I'm very excited about. Darren and I will also be around recording some content for the second season of Orange and Blue Thing.
QBC 2018 will take place on Saturday, January 20 from 11:30 AM-6:30 PM at Katch in Astoria. Tickets start at $50 and include at least one autograph from a player in attendance.

Tailgate with us on Saturday July 5th! You don't need to be sitting with The 7 Line Army to tailgate together. Let's get the good vibes started in the parking lot and hopefully they continue until last pitch. Food, drinks, games, music and more in the Marina Lot.
Swing by the K Korner on Monday June 23rd before the Mets take on the Braves. If you're sitting with us or not, you can enjoy exclusive specials on Montauk draft beers by rocking any of your T7L merch to the bar.
Join us for a fun run (or walk) 5K the morning of The 7 Line Army outing in Pittsburgh. If you’re not feeling the whole route, just cut it short and head back to the ballpark. All paces, and distances welcome.
