The #CalliesMetsProm RT challenge is over, and Callie is about to get her wish. She seems like a serious Mets fan and a great girl. This will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is much cooler than any prom story.
5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣K‼️ #CalliesMetsProm is on!

Congrats @callieshayeeex3 we knew you’d do it. Thank you to everyone who supported! #Mets #LGM pic.twitter.com/Wt0Rljwmo4
In my opinion, the prom is super overrated. After my senior prom, I woke up underneath a kitchen table in the Hamptons the next morning, still wearing my tux, with a rose in my hand. Just weird. And 20 years later, I'm still not even sure why. Photos at Shea Stadium with Mrs. Met would've been much much cooler.
Brands have been on this RT challenge thing for a while now. It costs them nothing, and you can't buy that kind of press. Remember the Wendy's chicken nugget challenge? They only asked for 18,000,000 retweets.
For marketing purposes, this was clearly a slam dunk for the Mets. A feel good story for the girl, and good marketing for the team. Let's be honest here, if she didn't get the 500,000 retweets, there was no way the team was going to turn her down after this thing took off. The story quickly went viral (even Captain Kirk got in on it) and it's now a win for both parties.
Obviously the team can't say yes to everyone. There's a wish around every corner, but honoring everyone's request is just not possible. Congrats to Callie for being one of the lucky ones.
Either way, the floodgates are now open. Doesn't hurt to ask, right?

We'll be spending Opening Weekend in Houston! Hopefully you'll be one of the 1,300 Mets fans kicking the season off with us in Texas! The Astros didn't have enough availability to fit us for Opening Day, so we locked up 1,300 tickets to game 2 of the season on March 29th.
