When news like this breaks, some fans immediately look to us for answers.
Are we going? Group outing? Should we book hotels now?!?!?
The answer on this one is no.
The Mets told me that the team gets a small allotment of tickets for the clubhouse, and the rest of the seats are usually reserved for the players and families participating in the Little League World Series. Additionally, as the game nears, there may be a lottery for residents of Willamsport and the surrounding area.
But even if it were an option, I don't think it would be right for us to take a huge chunk of seats for our crew.
For the teams who are lucky enough to qualify, the LLWS is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Little League Classic is all about fostering the connection between youth and professional baseball in this country. So it's only right to let as many kids as possible enjoy this opportunity to see their heroes up close in an intimate setting.
Both youth baseball and the Little League Classic are for the kids. We get that, and we're 100% behind it. So we'll be cheering on the Mets from our couches for this one.
Your eyes do not deceive you, we don't have any available Mets 2024 Postseason merch. It's not that we don't have designs ready to go, we just aren't allowed to release them for another 2 weeks. Fanatics gets an exclusive 2 week window on licensed merch.
