I love photo reenactments, and this one is pretty awesome. That's former infielder Jeff Gardner with his daughters on the field at Shea back in 1991. Jeff played just 13 games for the Mets at the end of that season as a September call up, making his MLB debut on September 10th.
Jeffrey Scott Gardner is a former Major League Baseball infielder. He was the starting second baseman for the San Diego Padres in 1993, and played parts of three other seasons for the Padres, New York Mets, and Montreal Expos. After his playing career, Gardner was a manager in the Padres' minor league system from 2001 until 2003.
In 2014, he was listed as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks' professional scouting staff, based in Costa Mesa, California. (via wikipedia)
Jeff's daughter Bailey (@bailey_alexandra) and her sister Blake reenacted the scene with dad this past summer in the Citi Field parking lot. Sight of the old Shea Stadium diamond. Super cool.
We hope you'll join us for the 2nd annual T7L7K! The inaugural event far exceeded our expectations and we know 2025 will be even greater. Run (or walk) with us through Flushing Meadows Corona Park, up to the Shea Stadium base paths, and back.
