MPOTD: Buddy vs Pete

MPOTD: Buddy vs Pete

by Darren Meenan November 21, 2017 0 Comments

This is one of the more iconic Mets moments from back in the day. Fights in the playoffs are rare, and this scuffle took place during the 1973 NLDS at Shea Stadium. Buddy thought Pete went a bit hard in to second base and all hell broke loose.

Props to @gummyarts for the illustration. Realy cool Instagram account. Give it a follow.

Tale of the tape says they're both 5'11, but Pete was a beast compared to Buddy. David vs Goliath. Little Mac vs Tyson. Buddy vs Pete. Props to Brass Balls Harrelson for standing up for himself.

The video angle stinks, but the photos are classics.
