We've been hitting Nationals Park for a number of years now. So often I've lost count. 4 years? 5? Something like that. The Nationals are a pleasure to work with, and while our ticket rep could have easily busted chops after their last seasons massive success, he kept it professional. I can't say I'd have been as graceful. Thanks for all your hard work each season, Adam.
So sorry for the delay on this, but here's the deal. We put our 2020 deposit in right when the schedule came out at the end of last season. At our season ticket members meeting back in November I asked the room if they wanted to hit DC again. We've been going annually, and I wanted to make sure fans were still eager to head down. By a show of hands, it was settled that we'd be going back.
The way our schedule works out, April 4th was the only possible date for us. As luck would have it, the Nationals will also be having their World Series Champions ceremony that day. Smart on them to not do it on Opening Day. Get fans coming back for more just a couple days later.
Their ceremony won't affect us at all. We worked out a pre-game party at Mission Navy Yard just across the street. This is the spot we were at last year, and we signed a contract to run it back on their second floor. There will be food and drink specials. By the time we head in for first pitch the ceremony should be over. Trust me, I don't want to watch that either.
If you do happen to go in early, please respect the ceremony. Don't be that dumb dumb booing or acting like a fool in your Mets stuff. They earned it. Once the game starts, of course, the gloves are off again. We do have a tendency to make Nationals Park feel like a home game for Mets fans. Let's keep that going!
Anyway, all that now makes this a premium game for the Nationals. In turn making the tickets are a little more expensive than they have been in the past. The seats are in the same area as last season down the LF line. This was a massive upgrade over years past. We should be starting further down the section closer to the field this year as well.
Like usual, the tickets will have a $15 built in concession credit to be used on drinks, beers, food, or merch. You'll also get the special event t-shirt and game patch. If you'd like a ride, Rally Bus has an optional round trip from two departure locations. Citi Field or New Brunswick, NJ.
We'll be spending Opening Weekend in Houston! Hopefully you'll be one of the 1,300 Mets fans kicking the season off with us in Texas! The Astros didn't have enough availability to fit us for Opening Day, so we locked up 1,300 tickets to game 2 of the season on March 29th.
