We're hitting Toronto on Wednesday July 4th with 650 Mets fans. This will be our 88th MLB outing, 1st up North, and 18th different ballpark with the crew. As always, we worked out a pregame party for the squad, and we hope you'll make it.
The game is at 7:07pm, and the doors to Dublin Calling open at 11am. We should roll through no later than 3pm. Dublin Calling calls themselves a “Party Bar”, and after a ton of research and phone calls, I felt this was the best fit for our crew.
It’s not gigantic, but the bar should be able to fit us nicely. They have ping pong, pool, giant jenga, darts, music, food, and drink specials. We don’t need much else. Let’s turn this in to an indoor BBQ feel before we shoot over to the game.
It's always smart to get there early to secure a spot before the locals show up. To us it’s the 4th of July, to them it’s just another Wednesday. We're respectful of course, but wherever we go always turns in to a Mets bar for the day. Believe me, the bartenders don't mind. Don't forget to tip them!
In order to take part in the specials, you gotta wear your special UP NORTH ON THE 4TH event t-shirt. So don't forget it.
If by some chance Dublin Calling hits capacity, they also own the bar directly next door. That's called Rock N Horse Saloon and is Toronto's only Country Bar. They agreed to honor the same specials from 4-6pm until we head over to the ballpark. Between Dublin and Rock N Horse, they have enough room to fit all 650 of us.
Rogers Centre is about 5 blocks from the bars, and we'll parade over to the ballpark at around 6:10. This should leave us enough time to get in to the park and to our seats by the anthems. LISTEN UP FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS.
Special thanks to Dublin Calling for hosting us. As always, we're really looking forward to it.
We'll be spending Opening Weekend in Houston! Hopefully you'll be one of the 1,300 Mets fans kicking the season off with us in Texas! The Astros didn't have enough availability to fit us for Opening Day, so we locked up 1,300 tickets to game 2 of the season on March 29th.
