Run A 5K In Port Saint Lucie!
Happy New Year, Mets fans! Are you one of those people who makes resolutions? I'm not, but more power to ya if you are.
I haven't run an organized 5K yet (I will finish the NYC Marathon one day though), but this one the St. Lucie Mets are organizing sounds excellent. If you're already an avid runner, or just have "get off the couch" as something on your list this year, this sounds like a great time.
The Mets typically report right around Valentines Day, but most of the guys get down even earlier than that. If you're heading down a couple weeks before the games start, this would be a great way to kick off your trip. Get a quick 5K in before jumping over to Hop Life to cancel it out.
The 5K will race/run around Clover Park, and end on home plate. I'd recommend sliding for the photo op.
We won't be down until the Opener on February 27th, but I'll be cheering you on from home.
