Shoot Your Shot

Shoot Your Shot

Much like building up the confidence to ask the prettiest girl to prom, sometimes you just gotta shoot your shot. In this case, it was a Twitter exchange between a Mets fan studying abroad for the semester and Hall of Fame catcher Mike Piazza.

It worked.

What happened next is stuff of legends. I saw the exchange go down, and followed along to see how it would play out. WHAT!?!? Imagine getting this reply? Requests like this go out all day, but most would expect crickets in return. Uh, yeah, Mike. She'll be there....

And then....

Unbelievable. Mike goes above and beyond for his fans, and what was a blip on his radar, turned in to a lifelong memory for Ciara and her family.

As luck would have it, Ciara is the niece of my buddy Rob Savage. She brought along his 2017 T7LA jersey in hopes this encounter may come true. Not only did Mike sign it, Rob was the lucky guy on the other end of a Facetime call.

You're the man, Mike.
