Many Mets fans were clamoring for Wally Backman to manage in NY. Their wish is coming true, just for a different team. The Long Island Ducks announced Wednesday that Wally will become the 6th skipper in franchise history.

Via: LI DUCKS Backman replaces Kevin Baez, who signed with the Rockland Boulders of the Can-Am League earlier this week.
“Kevin Baez is the winningest manager in Ducks history and our organization respects him tremendously,” said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “Entering our 20th Anniversary Season, it is time for the Ducks to move in a new direction, and we are very excited about our future with Wally Backman.”
Congrats to Wally and the Ducks in this new chapter. I try to hit at least a couple Ducks games a year with the fam. Affordable tickets and concessions, no bad seat, great atmosphere for the kids, free parking, the list goes on.
I have toyed with the idea of bringing The 7 Line Army out for an outing. We have a pretty stacked schedule this year, but maybe we should get the wheels turning....
If we organized an outing to a @LIDucks game next season. Would you wanna go?

We're back! Meet up with The 7 Line Army at Xfinity Live before heading in to the game. Like last year, we're rolling with 1,500 fans and we'd love to see as many of your amazin' faces at the pre-game as possible.
We've been getting the short end of the weather stick so far this season. Hopefully that luck changes for us on Wednesday May 31st at Citi Field. The Mets take on the Phillies, and as usual we'll be hanging out in the Marina Lot beforehand.
