We were fucked the second I turned on the game and heard Gary Apple and then turned on the radio only to find out Howie Rose was also not doing the game tonight

That’s right, both Mets play-by-play commentators were off. No Gary Cohen on TV. No Howie Rose on the radio. We were never winning this game.
So where are they? Why did they schedule time off at the same time in the middle of a pennant race? Well, we’ve got some ideas of our own:
They’ve traveled to Flavortown to join Guy Fieri in search of some “real deal” cuisine:
They’re on a Disney Vacation:
Parlez-Vous Francais?
On a craft beer brewery tour:
Or maybe just chillin' at the beach:
Gary, Howie - wherever you are, please come back soon. We need you back in the booth!
