12 years ago today, the last piece of our beloved Shea Stadium came crashing down.

I remember wanting to go, but had to miss this last day of demolition for some reason or another. Thinking back on it, I'm kind of glad did. I have very fond memories of Shea, and I don't think I'd want to have experienced that in person. Like voluntarily watching an old friend take their last breath. Hearing the crowd cheer at the end of the above video is hard enough.
I did head over a day or so later though, and walked away with a piece of her core.

RIP SHEA
We'll be spending Opening Weekend in Houston! Hopefully you'll be one of the 1,300 Mets fans kicking the season off with us in Texas! The Astros didn't have enough availability to fit us for Opening Day, so we locked up 1,300 tickets to game 2 of the season on March 29th.
